Our Mission
Ride the Byroads is the result of an idea to create motorcycle routes using only dirt roads and spanning the length of Tasmania. The routes showcases the best that Tasmania has to offer; its spectacular scenery, incredible roads and legendary food and hospitality. By travelling on the RTB trails you will be providing much needed financial support to the rural communities of Tasmania.
Our mission is to reconnect riders with nature by travelling Tasmania's scenic gravel roads, with the aim of bringing tourism and support to our smaller rural communities.
RTB offers two incredible routes through Tasmania, covering a total distance of roughly 1,755 km. The east coast trail spans approximately 960 km, running from Cockle Creek in the south to Eddystone Point Lighthouse at the northeastern tip, while the west coast trail stretches about 795 km from Cockle Creek to the Stanley Photo Frame. Both routes follow back-country and forestry roads, showcasing some of the island's most stunning scenery. Carefully curated, the trail allows riders to venture off the main path to explore smaller byroads, with helpful tips and tricks provided to enhance the experience.
